February 27, 2026

The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Pancratz. Commissioner Goffena and Commissioner Turley were present.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda after adding Emergency Fire Resolution 2026-7. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Goffena made the motion to approve February 20, 2026 minutes as written. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Justice of the Peace Marking met with the Commissioner to schedule an HR meeting on Wednesday March 4th 2026 at 1:00.

Commissioner Pancratz and Commissioner Turley attended the refuse Board meeting Tuesday February 24, 2026.

Commissioner Pancratz attended a Fair Board meeting on Tuesday February 24, 2026.

They met with a representative of Senator Sheehy regarding fire protection and Congress directed spending.

All Commissioners did claims and had a Wier Building update with Theresa Doumitt on Wednesday February 25, 2026.

Friday February 27, Commissioner Goffena attended a Central Montana Health District meeting via Teams.

Norman Trent joined the meeting.

Public Comment on Resolution 2026-9  A resolution authorizing and approving the sale of a certain parcel of real property known as the Wier Building, 215 Main Street, Roundup, Montana, and more particularly described as the Roundup Original Townsite, S13, T08 N, R25 E, Lots 8, 9, 10, 11 and the South 18.5 feet of Lot 7, Block 17 in the City of Roundup, Musselshell County, Montana for the purpose of economic development and historic preservation in accordance with the development objectives of Musselshell County and providing for an effective date herein. Theresa Doumitt told the Commissioners that Jeremy Fadness from WWC reviewed the Resolution, and an update will be forwarded. Ms. Doumitt also thanked the Commissioners for investing in economic development and preserving our heritage.  Commissioner Pancratz thanked Ms. Doumitt for her effort in bringing it forward.  

 Public comment on, Ordinance 2026-1, An Ordinance for Community Development of Government Owned Property.  There was no public comment.

Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign Snowy Mountain Development Corporations Modification Agreement for the Farmers Union property cleanup.  Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Turley made the motion to sign the amendment to Subgrant Agreement Brownsfield Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund, submitted by Snowy Mountain Development. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Commissioner Goffena made the motion to sign the Outlay Report #7 for Request for Reimbursement for the Construction Programs at the Roundup Municipal Airport, submitted by KLJ Engineering.  Commissioner Turley seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Pam Walling and Vera Pederson with MACo Health Care Trust met with the Commissioners to give them the updated renewal amounts for the 2026/2027 FY.

County Agent Cooley gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. The Fair Board meeting was Tuesday February 24, 2026. They are working on “Rainbows” sign. The pesticide class went well there were 10 people in attendance, and he is turning in the credits to the State.

County Attorney Todd-Rogers joined the meeting.

Maintenance Supervisor Jett met with the Commissioners regarding the whiteboard in their office and the north door not closing.

DES did not come into the meeting, but Coordinator Rook called in with an update on the Rehder Road fire.

Treasurer Hetrick met with the Commissioners regarding interest on certain funds and requirements.

Sheriff Lesnik met with the Commissioners. There was a big court case that finally ended. Update on Rehder Road fire.  Our fire fighters are top notch.

There was no public comment.

There being no further business Commissioner Turley made the motion to adjourn. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion.  Motion carried.
