June 5th, 2026

The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Pancratz & Commissioner Goffena.  Commissioner Turley was attending MACO Conference. Others present were Norma Trent, Michaela Viviano and Eric Randel. Minutes were done by Charle Vohs.

Pledge of Allegiance

Commissioner Goffena made a motion to approve the agenda for the day. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Goffena made a motion to approve the minutes from May 29, 2026. Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Public comment:

Eric Randel came in with a petition to reopen Hampton Road. Commissioners said they would investigate and send the info on to WWC for a study on the road. Eric will check back in a few weeks.

Michaela Viviano from Dept. of Child & Family Services came in looking for office space. They need enough room for 2 people and visiting area for families.  Commissioners were thinking about the Old USDA building. They will investigate the feasibility and will have Michaela come back in a few weeks.

Business Audit Engagement services form submitted by Nexus CPA Group. Commissioner Goffena made a motion to accept and sign. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Non-audit Advisory Services forms by Nexus CPA Group. Commissioner Goffena made a motion to accept and sign. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Dept. of Administrations Standard audit contract. Commissioner Goffena made a motion to accept and sign. Commissioner Pancratz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Vote for eliminating the 3:00 public comment and limiting the Department head meetings to 15 minutes. Commissioner Goffena motioned that they would tabled until all 3 commissioners are present. Commissioner Pancratz seconded.

Denise Miller/ MCSS ordered 2 banners and 2 tripods. Lunch is average for 32 Meals. Hired new Driver for local appointments. When expanding for Meals on wheels will need to think about an assistant for Mary in the kitchen. Once a month trip to Billings 6/19 will take passengers to the heights for shopping. May do 2 trips if there is interest. Price of meals will go up as of 7/1/26. $7.00 for Seniors and $9.00 for others.

Tamasin Sterner– Former energy auditor for 40 years came in to ask that Musselshell not accept AI Data Centers. Commissioners thanked her for her information.

John Albert came in to update that Musselshell Park the 2nd vault has been pumped and the tree trimmers are there. May take two days to complete. Leaving the good wood for campers to use the rest in the burn pit.

County Agent Reed Cooley came in and gave his weekly report Showmanship clinic for kids has 6 kids signed up. Range day has 11 people signed up. Horse sale this Saturday 6/6/26.

Angie Tatman is having problems with people filling water and will be putting a lock on the spigot. Commissioner Pancratz will call about getting the flow station online.

Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report. 2 Currently in Jail. Talked about New Resident Pamphlet to help new Montana residents to know laws about living here. EX. Free range for cattle. He also wants an addition to Court Compliance budget will get with Justina when she gets back.

County Attorney Holly Todd-Rogers asked if salary will be Raised equal to other County Attorney’s once she is a county elected official.

DES Justin Russell and Assistant Darin Rook gave their weekly report. Fire Equipment that was ordered is $40,000 covered by capital improvement. Staley gave a quote for plans and stamp of approval for build. Commissioners asked Justin to get quotes from WWC and Great West.  He also wants a breakdown for the fees. 2 trailers in Billings for the UTV for the county will be paid for by Coal Board. Received the $16,000 grant funds. 1 call for service on the Divide. Opened burning this week. 1 meeting with RIDE Committee for Safety Plan. RIDE is hiring 7 Security Specialists and 7 crowd management personnel. 1address verification.

Treasurer Darcie Hetrick gave her report. She turned in her Ending balance report for May 2026

Community Health Worker Nick Littrell gave his weekly report. He has an article in this week’s Roundup Record and was interviewed on social media. He has seen and helped a few people this week.  Also completed more training. He has been invited to Big Timber to shadow CHW. He will do that later this summer. He is submitting his grant proposal next week.

EMS Ron Solberg came in and gave weekly report. Coal Board Ambulance has shown up in Missouri for build out. Will get schedule for completion next week. Dispatch updates will be done in August. Many transports.

Dispatch Director Cheryl Ramsey came in and gave update on everything that is needed for staff issues that had been done. She needed signature for County card.

Angi Tatman Fairgrounds-came in to give update on Fairgrounds; wedding, horse sale, rodeo, cowboy church 4h Fair. All coming up. Trees have been trimmed and need to finish projects on the list for Fairgrounds
