County Fairgrounds in Roundup – Statement of Policy

Musselshell County Montana Fairgrounds Use

Fairgrounds Statement of Policy

Everyone who uses the fairgrounds facilities will pay a user fee. This fee will be determined by what is used.

The use fee is intended to pay for upkeep of the facilities.

Applications and fees must be paid to Musselshell County and a contract signed before using any facilities. Applications will be handled through the Extension Office.

Money for additions and major improvements must be obtained from other sources.

Any outside money raised by an organization for improvements to the fairgrounds may be applied toward that year’s use fee if approved by the County.

Fairground facilities include:

  • Rodeo Arena
  • Roping Arena
  • Livestock Barns
  • Upper Quonset
  • 4-H Building or Bathrooms
  • Baseball Field
  • Cow Bells Corral
  • Concession Stands
  • Restrooms
  • Infield
  • Parking Areas
  • Stock Pens

All concessions and money-making activities during a County-sponsored event will be managed by Musselshell County. Musselshell County may also sponsor concessions.

Users will be given two days after an event for cleanup.

Money may be withheld from the deposit for:

  • Damage
  • Failure to clean facilities properly

The user will be given the opportunity to repair or clean anything that does not meet standards.

The County will inspect facilities before and after use.

Users must report any items that are out of order before use to avoid responsibility for those items.

The Commissioners approve repairs, or their authorized agent may approve minor repairs costing $250.00 or less.

The security deposit, or remaining balance after deductions, will be refunded during the next County claim run following final inspection of the facility.

Insurance Requirements

The permittee must file with the County a certificate of satisfactory liability insurance.

The policy must protect both parties against financial loss resulting from claims for damages to persons or property.

All subleasing activities, including concession stands, must also provide proof of insurance.
