The meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Commissioner Goffena. Commissioner Turley was present. Commissioner Pancratz will not be in today.
Norma Trent and E. Mark Olson were present.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to approve the agenda for the day. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Commissioner Goffena made the motion to approve the minutes after a few small changes. Commissioner Turley seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Duane Brewer met with the Commissioners regarding the signs on 4H Road for “Dead End” and “Bridge Limit”.
All Commissioners attended the water flow meeting at the fairgrounds on Wednesday September 16, 2026.
Commissioner Goffena and Commissioner Turley attended interviews for the County Attorney Assistant.
All 3 Commissioners attended the Growth Policy meeting on September 16, 2026, at the Ambulance Barn. There will be Public Comment for Policy on October 2 and 9th at 8:45 in the Commissioner’s office, to be signed on the business portion of the October 9th meeting.
Commissioner Goffena and Commissioner Turley toured Goulding Creek Road after a resident complained about the condition of the road. The Commissioners thought the road was fine and wished their road was as good.

Eric Eliasson joined the meeting to ask to be part of the meetings for the Tourism Grant that the Commissioners are a part of. Commissioner Turley is going to be setting up a meeting. Meeting is on Monday September 21, 2026. End of public comment.
Commissioner Turley made the motion to sign Resolution 2026-25 to approve Budget Amendments from the 2025/2026 Budget. Commissioner Goffena seconded the motion. Motion carried.
MCSS Director Miller gave her weekly report to the Commissioners. There were some questions regarding the budget. She met with the Director of Area II agency on Aging for the financials. There will be a flu shot clinic at the Senior Center for area seniors. They are considering starting a “coffee clutch” for the seniors also.
County Attorney Todd-Rogers joined the meeting.
Sheriff Lesnik gave his weekly report to the Commissioners. There were 2 plane crashes in Musselshell County this week. An update on the policy that was changed by the Legislature of the deputies pay was submitted.
DES Director Russell and Coordinator Rook gave their weekly report to the Commissioners. There were 17 office visits, 45 phone calls, 1 burn permit issued, 2 new addresses, 5 emergency response/incidence support calls. 2 airplane crashes, 1 wildland fire, we provided mutual aid for the Davis Coulee fire on the Crow Reservation. We also provided mutual aid on a motor vehicle crash in Rosebud County. There were 4 meetings attended. Fire restrictions, Melstone School Safety preparedness, Fairgrounds water planning and needs and a Planning Board meeting.
Michaela Viviano with CPS (Child Protective Services) met with the Commissioners to discuss the need of office space.
Nicholas Burdick with Globe Life Family Heritage Supplemental Insurance met with the Commissioners. Mr. Burdick will be visiting with the County Department Heads.
Fairgrounds Director Tatman gave her report to the Commissioners. Ms. Tatman is going to be getting signs made for at the fairgrounds. The Commissioners decided on .03 for the cost of water at the Fairgrounds.

Dustin Lewis met with the Commissioners to discuss hunting on County Property.
